Alright — here’s a weird one I’ve been thinking about lately.

Air.

Yeah, the invisible stuff we all breathe 20,000 times a day… that turns out to be a massive business opportunity hiding in plain sight.

I’m @ArtParmann, and this is Rounders to Founders. Where I pull on different business threads to find the weirdest (and most profitable) ideas & business tools out there, and share the best ones with you.

The Trend I Fell Down The Rabbit Hole On:

I went down the “air quality” vent this week.

Every chart I pulled up looked the same — up and to the right.

  • Searches for “air purifier” are exploding.

  • Wildfire smoke and city pollution are making “indoor air” a dinner-table topic.

  • And indoor-air monitoring devices are becoming the new smoke detectors.

It’s one of those quiet, boring industries that’s suddenly getting hot because people finally care about what they can’t see.

The Idea

So here’s my simple beginner-level thought:

What if you could measure and improve someone’s air right from their vents?

Picture this — you show up at someone’s house with a small air-quality sensor that slips into an existing HVAC vent. The moment their system kicks on, the sensor measures particulate matter, CO₂, humidity, and other stuff we usually ignore.
When the air starts to drop below “healthy,” the system pings your phone (or theirs) with a notification: “Air quality dropping — filter may need replacing.”

That’s the hook. And to be honest it’s a bit advanced. If all you do is educate them (AKA make the customer afraid to breathe in their own home). From there, you just happen to have the solution. And you can sell it in a few different ways:

  1. Affiliate Sales – Review and recommend the best home air monitors and purifiers online. Get paid every time someone buys through your site.

  2. Local Service Company – Offer in-home installation and monitoring. “The O2 Bros” who install sensors, set up dashboards, and replaces filters quarterly.

  3. Subscription Filter Service – Deliver top-tier air filters (MERV 13 or HEPA) on autopilot. Maybe bundle the sensor for free if they subscribe for a year.

Each model starts small but has legs. Everyone’s trying to breathe cleaner air — and nobody minds paying for it.

The Domain Giveaway

Of the available domains for this idea, I thought OxygenMetrics.com was the best one. And I’m giving it away free to one reader who replies to this email.

It’s clean, brandable, and could fit any of the angles above:

  • Affiliate Site: “We test every purifier so you can breathe easy.”

  • Local Service: “Oxygen Metrics — Know what’s in your air.”

  • Subscription Brand: “Monthly air filters + real-time air insights.”

If you reply with how you’d use it, I’ll transfer the domain to the best reply.

Other Fresh Domains I Found (Still Available as of this writing)

Pick one and run with it. Even a one-page website and affiliate links is a good start.

Bottom Line

You don’t need to build the next Dyson. You just need to help people understand what’s in the air around them. And then show them an easier way to fix it.

That’s a business that makes money and makes people feel better every single day.

I’m going to give away OxygenMetrics.com next week.
Reply to this email with your idea. Affiliate site, service biz, filter subscription, or something else, and it’s yours.
